Mac & Mickey Contractor Collection 2011

I'm looking forward to seeing and hearing more about this collection.  It is a collaboration between Mac and Mickey Contractor who is Macs Director of Makeup Artistry for India, a very well renowned MUA to the stars including the very beautiful Aishwayra Rai!

The blushes sound suspiciouly like Nars Albatross and Douceur, curious, very curious...we shall see.  I'm also very interested to see what Saffron eyeshadow will look like.

The foundations and concealers also have caught my eye, I have been matched to NC44 but never owned it so would be interested to see if I would match one of the other shades, would be a shame as they're limited edition!

I'm very interested to see what this collection looks like, and if it is one that will be well suited to people of colour and I say that because the foundation and concealer shades are all around my skin tone range :-)

I'll be waiting for Christine from Temptalia or Karlasugar to post on their blogs/YT channels as they seem to get a look at everything in advance and get us all even more excited for new collections.

Gotta get past this frenzy of holiday collections first!  Tomorrow for me will be Tartan Tale, if you follow my YT channel, I'll do a video on whatever I decide and manage to get as well as a blog post.  Decided to get it in person rather than order online this morning as then I'd have to wait for delivery (no patience!) and risk them saying stock is gone after I've place the order, no chance.  My counter said it'll be put on display tomorrow morning and I'll be able to go first thing.

It's so hard to see the products all over YT as we always get collections released a little later over here in the UK, grrr but in a way I get to see some reviews and swatches first so can make a more informed choice about what might interest me enough to part with some moolah, so there is my silver lining I guess!

  1. I am looking forward to this collection. I think there will be nice colours that will complement darker skinned ladies. I am excited but I know I will not get my hands on them as fast because the nearest MAC is 1 hour away. Moreover everything comes much later here in Sweden. Sadly!

  5. Uma - Me too, I'm really interested to see how flattering the colours will be for our skin tones. Poor you, I feel for you, I hope your hubby appreciates all you've given up to move to Sweden. I'm sure he does as you have some trips to London coming up!

Nisha - I'm so glad to hear this has been helpful, thanks so much for your support and lovely encouragement :-)

Sharon - I agree, not often you see collections more geared towards our skin tone, hopefully promo pics will be out soon!

Anonymous - Ooh hadn't pigments too, how exciting, if you find out any further details about them please do share. Thanks for reading and commenting :-)

  6. i am so very excited about this line! i had no idea about this at all. I love Mickey Contractor's work, and am so excited about the foundations from this line! MAC desperately needed the in between foundation shades, and maybe i can find something in there that i love!

  7. Diane,
Thank you for this thorough overview of the collection! I was on temptalia the other day and she only showcased 4 eyeshadows on her blog post about this collection. I was so worried that's all it was going to be so it now seems as though I dismissed the collection in ignorance! Thank you for telling all of us there's more to come.
    xoxo

  8. Hi Avery,

    Thanks for following :-)

You're welcome, actually the first four colours listed are in the Athma quad, details were a bit sketchy awhile back - oops. I picked up quite a few bits that I knew I would use.

I'm thinking up a look to film as I've had a few requests.

    xxx
